Update: Drag just added another show at the Triple Nickle in Colorado Springs (JJ Nobody's place) on Thursday, October 8. This one appears to be without Slim Cessna, though.

This one has all the makings of a Mile High classic. Two stellar bands, each a headliner on its own, on the same stage, on the same night! Drag the River has just announced two back-to-back theater shows with Slim Cessna's Auto Club. The first one's slated for Friday, October 9, at the Oriental Theater, followed by a date at the Aggie Theater in Fort Collins the next night, Saturday, October 10. With all the energy being put towards their individual solo efforts, the release of Jon Snodgrass's Visitor's Band this past January and the impending release of Chad Price's Smile Sweet Face, it's been a hot minute since Drag the River has played a full band show locally. That in itself, as you know, is more than worth the price of admission. But then add the patented hellfire and brimstone of Slim Cessna's Auto Club -- playing these two shows and another date at Bender's on Halloween before its annual New Year's Eve extravaganza at the Bluebird -- now, that's what we're talking about, brother and sisters! It's a high time for lowlifes. Can we get an amen?
