Our post about the decision by Waterway Carwash branches to ban older model Jeep Cherokees and Grand Cherokees because of alleged sudden-acceleration issues struck a chord with one of our readers, who’d been told staffers couldn’t clean the vehicle, but wasn’t told why not.

Funny that this was just posted. I bought a 2010 Grand Cherokee last week and went yesterday to waterway to change the vehicle on my membership. They turned me away and wouldn’t comment on the exact reason they would not wash my vehicle. I called customer support and canceled my membership. When the woman heard my cancellation reason she just laughed and said, “Okay, all taken care of.” When I asked her for specifics on the issue, she said she wasn’t allowed to comment.
