On September 5, Tiffany Rasnic updated her current Facebook status to read, "Divorced."
But in subsequent posts, she sounded an upbeat tone.
In an October 14 reply to a Facebook friend, she wrote, "Finally got back on feet, doing better than ever. Got a new car, an SUV, got a new place. It's all coming together now."
Days later, it's all fallen apart. Rasnic is under arrest after allegedly kidnapping her ten-year-old son, prompting an Amber Alert.
Rasnic has multiple Facebook addresses, including one that says she was residing in Livingston, New Jersey as of last year.
The assorted pages feature portraits like this one....
...and this one:
However, the pic sent out by the Westminster Police Department on the afternoon of Monday, October 26, appears to be a mug shot.
Accompanying it were images of Rasnic's son, whose identity we've concealed given that he's no longer missing:
At 3:25 p.m., according to the WPD, officers were informed about the boy's kidnapping — and the scenario mentions an alleged accomplice and an apparent act of police impersonation.
The child had been picked up by a relative. But after the vehicle containing the boy stopped at an 80th and Lowell Boulevard traffic signal, another car pulled up behind it and a man wearing a tan suit stepped out.
The man flashed "some type of badge or ID," the WPD maintains, and threatened the relative with arrest unless the child was handed over. At that point, Rasnic is said to have appeared at the passenger side of the first car,"forcibly removed" the boy, loaded him into a white, four-door SUV and split.
Given that Rasnic didn't have parental custody of the boy, who was under a protection order, an Amber Alert was issued — and after receiving a tip, officers found Rasnic and the child around 9:30 p.m. last night at a residence in Wheat Ridge.
Thus far, no potential charges have been announced and the man seen in Rasnic's company has yet to be identified. However, we know that the boy is safe and Rasnic is in custody.
Here's a look at her booking photo.
