Buxom wenches and drunken beer songs do share a long, healthy history, especially this time of year, when Oktoberfest celebrations circle the globe. But here in Denver, the beer-savoring level is off the charts, baby -- exploding like fireworks all over town as the multitudinous events of the new Denver Beer Fest prepare to collide, in a miasma of suds, with the coming of Great American Beer Festival later this week. Beer here? You bet!

So it's no surprise that Lannie's Clocktower Cabaret will be right in the swing of things with tonight's Beers, Brats & Burlesque: Tastings and Tassels, which offers promise of all the aforementioned, including the lovely Clocktower Clockettes, who will preside over brat-bolting, beer-swilling and general mayhem of the gentlemanly kind. Nothing could possibly clear up a dreary, cold Monday more quickly than that: Tickets, $22, include plenty of brews from Boulder's Avery Brewing Company, as well as the food and burlesque. Go to www.lannies.com or call 303-293-0075 for a must-have reservation. Lannie's is located at 1601 Arapahoe Street, on the lower level of the D&F Tower.
