Who knew? Judging from the response to our story that Godfather's Pizza is coming back to Colorado after a twenty-year absence, people are hungry for the pizza you can't refuse. Says Leonard:

About time. I've been waiting for Godfather's Pizza to come back to Colorado. I used to work for Godfather's back in the '80s, so I know how good they were then; I hope they come to the Denver and Aurora area soon. Welcome back.

Even though Denverites insist they will welcome the Godfather, will he make the finals of the Best of Denver Readers' Poll in 2017? You can still vote for the finalists in the Best of Denver 2016 Readers' Poll; the deadline is tomorrow night. And those Best Pizza finalists are:

Slice Works
Denver Deep Dish
Bar Dough
Blue Pan Pizza
Hops & Pie

Remember, Westword food writers will also make their own pick for Best Pizza. But you can vote for your favorite finalist now on the Best of Denver 2016 Readers' Poll — and then watch for all the winners on March 31, when the Best of Denver 2016 hits the street...and this website.

Keep Westword Free... Since we started Westword, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Denver, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" membership program, allowing us to keep covering Denver with no paywalls.
