It comes as a surprise to some that our landlocked city gets some of the freshest seafood in the country. Take advantage this holiday season by dining on littleneck clams, lobster, whole branzino and more during a Feast of the Seven Fishes.

Although the Italian-American tradition is generally hosted on Christmas Eve, many restaurants across the Front Range are serving their own renditions throughout December.

Basta, from the award-winning Id Est Hospitality Group, will host its Feast of the Seven Fishes on December 23 and 24. Each evening will feature a multi-course menu with innovative seafood dishes, plus signature items available Á  la carte. Seating is limited, so promptly book reservations via OpenTable.

Although the Bindery will only be open for brunch on Christmas Eve, the restaurant helmed by chef Linda Hampsten Fox will host a Feast of the Seven Fishes on Saturday, December 21. Priced at $150 per person, the menu is yet to be announced, but reservations for its 6:30 p.m. seating are currently available on Tock with a $50 deposit.

The six-course Christmas Eve meal at the Benson Hotel’s signature restaurant will include sourdough with anchovy butter, lobster bisque, a scallop ceviche tart, brown butter halibut, diablo shrimp and more seafood-centric dishes. December 22-24, southern Italian restaurant Coperta will serve a family-style Feast of the Seven Fishes. Priced at $89 per person, dishes include potato croquettes with tonnato sauce, hamachi crudo, smoked trout, salt cod potato gnocchi, bay scallops spaghetti and swordfish sausage mezzaluna topped with puttanesca sauce. Northern Italian eatery Frasca celebrated its twentieth anniversary this year, and on Christmas Eve, it will welcome guests to its annual Feast of the Seven Fishes. The seafood-based tasting menu features six courses and is priced at $215 per person. Reservations to the Michelin-starred restaurant can be made on Tock with a $100 deposit per guest.

The Denver, Glendale, Boulder and Fort Collins outposts will serve a five-course menu on Christmas Eve for $85 per person. Start with fritto misto featuring shrimp, squid and anchovy-stuffed olives, followed by a Little Gem salad drizzled with creamy anchovy dressing. Shrimp fra diavolo with casarecce pasta and branzino with polenta follow, and the meal ends with classic tiramisu. Complete the experience with wine pairings, or opt for Jax’s martini special, made with rosemary-infused vodka, white cranberry, St-Germain and Cointreau. Book reservations on the Jax website.

Dine on salt cod fritters, stuffed mussels, a traditional Italian seafood salad, clam campanelle, red shrimp pappardelle, whole roasted branzino and Florentine-style cod – plus pistachio, cherry and chocolate ricotta cannolis for dessert.
