Okinawa Sushi, a sea of Japanese cuisine, opens today in Berkeley with an expansive sushi and sashimi menu, more than fifty rolls, including several vegetarian options and a handful of low-carb sushi rolls, a fistful of sushi and sashimi platters, bento boxes and an omakase menu. The modern restaurant, which exposes stark-white chairs and banquettes, ebony tables and fits of bright colors on the walls and ceiling, also trumpets a daily happy hour from 2:30 to 6 p.m., during which there are discounts on sake, beer and wine, along with half-price appetizers, sushi and rolls. Here's a sneak peek at the space.
