As Valentine's Day approaches, love is in the air — but so is stress as people scramble to secure reservations for the city's most romantic restaurants, many of which are offering specials and prix fixe options for the occasion.
But if your idea of romance includes smothered and covered hashbrowns served under the glow of a neon yellow sign, there's just one reservation you need to score.
After Anthony Bourdain's first Waffle House experience, he called it "marvelous — an irony-free zone where everything is beautiful and nothing hurts." And in an irony-free way, it's also become a Valentine's Day hot spot.
"The tradition began in 2008 at a Waffle House restaurant in John’s Creek, Georgia," the company explains. "An influx of customers dined at this restaurant every Valentine’s Day, so the manager decided to make the experience extra special. Today, the trend of offering decorated tables with tablecloths, a specially curated jukebox playlist, and Valentine’s decorations tastefully gracing the customer area has spread to multiple Waffle House locations, as the number of participating restaurants has increased each year."
February 14 is the only day of the year that Waffle House allows guests to book a table. This year, 203 Waffle House locations in 22 states are participating in the tradition.
Colorado is home to ten Waffle House outposts but only one is taking reservations for Valentine's Day 2025: the Littleton location at 201 East County Line Road.
To book a table, call 720-727-0335 to reach the Valentine's reservation line for store #1107. A pre-recorded message will prompt you to leave your name, phone number, party size and requested time, noting that a staff member will call you back to confirm the booking. Reservations are available from 5 to 8:30 p.m.
