Last April, chef/restaurateur Dana Rodriguez closed Cantina Loca, her Mexican eatery in LoHi; the space has now reopened, though it's serving a very different cuisine. Tasty Pot, a Taiwanese food chain, debuted in Colorado when franchisee Alex Lung opened a location in Aurora in 2021; now it has a spot in LoHi. That outpost soft-opened this week and will celebrate its grand opening on Sunday, April 6, with a lion dance at 1 p.m. Tasty Pot serves a variety of signature hot pots with customizable heat levels and add-ons.
One of our current top 100 restaurants is back in a new neighborhood. Owner Kamolrat “Ploy” Limpapath closed the original location of Lucky Noodles, her Thai eatery, in January (that East Colfax space is now Uptown Banh Mi & Grill). This week, Lucky Noodles made its comeback in the former home of the original Señor Burritos in Baker, which moved out in January after 34 years. During the soft opening, Lucky Noodles' hours on April 5-6 are 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Lotus Concepts, the company behind ViewHouse, My Neighbor Felix and Wonderyard, has revived the former Sports Column space in LoDo as glam Western-themed bar Belles & Boots, complete with a boot-shaped disco ball, mechanical bull, line-dancing on Thursdays and more.
And the legendary Mercury Cafe is now officially The Pearl under new owners Ashlee Cassity and Dom Garcia, who promise to keep the spirit of the place intact. Jonathan Mora of Mora Pizza/Tua Mama's is set to take over the kitchen at the Pearl later this month.
