Purple Ginger II now serving modern Asian in Englewood

It took a while, but Ricky and Anna Choi finally have what they want: a second restaurant to complement their successful Purple Ginger in Lakewood.

Last fall the Chois had opened Zi Fusion, a restaurant at 7340 South Clinton Street in Englewood; they closed it in April for what was supposed to be a two-week remodel. But that turned in to a larger-scale concept change, and at 11 a.m. today, the space finally reopened as Purple Ginger II.

The name isn't all that's changed. Owner Ricky Choi says he was not on the same page as the original Zi Fusion management, so he cleaned house before reopening the place as a modern Asian restaurant.

And even that reopening was pushed back. Purple Ginger II was originally slated to open June 30, but manager Vijay Mehra didn't want to head unprepared into a long holiday weekend, he says, so they waited until today.

The menu at Purple Ginger II closely mirrors that of the original Purple Ginger, which focuses on healthy modern Asian cuisine, and Ricky Choi will be overseeing the kitchen.

The restaurant will be serving lunch and dinner every day but Sunday. For more information, call 720-287-1479.
