Eater National recently created heat maps for several cities across the country that chronicle the hot new places in a city and plot them on a map with descriptions, for anyone wondering where to eat right now.

And today, Denver gets its very own.

They solicited our suggestions for the list, and since we were asked to name places that have opened in the last year or so, we tried to pick buzzed-about restaurants that had geographical and gastronomical distribution, including TAG RAW BAR, the newest restaurant from Troy Guard, Biker Jim's Gourmet Dogs -- which just opened on Larimer Street last week -- El Diablo down on Broadway, and Street Kitchen Asian Bistro in the southern suburbs.

Check out the map and let us know your favorite spot on the list -- and what hot new eateries we missed.

Keep Westword Free... Since we started Westword, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Denver, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism.
