Broderick & Co., which started life in 2022 as a distillery and outlet for Uncle Tim’s Cocktails, is making the leap from selling high-quality bottled cocktails to enjoy in the comfort of your own home to offering high-quality cocktails in the comfort of its own bar, Broderick.

While the company has offered a tasting-room opportunity at its production facility, this new location at 1080 South Gaylord Street (previously occupied by Bottle Shop 33) is designed to provide a space where customers can sink into a plush chair, enjoy a cocktail, order some snacks, and possibly catch a local musician, comedian or artist.

“This opening marks a new chapter for our brand, and one we’ve felt overwhelmingly supported by the community through,” says Broderick & Co. co-owner and “Uncle Tim” namesake Tim Felkner in an announcement. “Broderick adds to the inherent charm of South Gaylord, bringing the community together in a way that’s both approachable and elevated, to connect over a before- or after-dinner drink. We’ve always been intentional about creating experiences centered around food and drink, whether in our own backyard or through our line of bottled cocktails, and Broderick takes that experience to the next level.”

The brand was inspired by the San Francisco bar scene and named for the space where Felkner and co-founder Patrick Stern lived and met. It was a home full of friends, food, and celebration.

“Our apartment on Broderick Street was the quintessential gathering space where everything happened. Dinners, brunches, birthdays – we celebrated every moment, occasion and milestone there,” says Stern. “We wanted to recreate that feeling for Denver. Broderick is meant to feel like home to all who step through our doors.”

Broderick will host its grand opening on Friday, August 15, and Saturday, August 16, when it will feature a selection from the Uncle Tim’s lineup, including its signature lines of negronis, Manhattans and Old Fashioneds, along with seasonal cocktails, mocktails, and cocktail flights. There will also be snacks ranging from olives, nuts and chips to panini and antipasto,

After opening weekend, Broderick will continue to feature collaborations with local makers such as Gino Panino, Rebel Bread, Sati Coffee, MOR Kombucha and Yummy Lotus Jams, as well as fellow local spirits producers including Denver Distillery, State 38 and Caprock.

Starting Friday, August 15, Broderick will be open at 1080 South Broadway from 4 to 10 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, from 4 to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and Sunday from 4 to 10 p.m.
