Toke It to the Limit: Memories of 4/20 at Civic Center Park

Toke It to the Limit: Memories of 4/20 at Civic Center Park

After years of unofficial celebrations on April 20 in Civic Center Park, the Denver 420 Rally rolled out in 2008, uniting thousands of supporters in a demonstration designed to bring attention and awareness to the cannabis community.

In November 2012, Coloradans legalized recreational cannabis, and 4/20 events morphed from political actions to parties. But the party's over this year, thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic that has closed Civic Center Park and Red Rocks, and canceled large events.

Here in the Mile High City, though, you can't stop 4/20 entirely. So take advantage of holiday deals, join online events, and scroll through these photos from past Civic Center celebrations.
