Dive into the world of sommeliers during a screening of SOMM: Into the Bottle at the Sie FilmCenter at 6 p.m. tonight. Denver Food and Wine and the Denver Film Society have teamed up to bring guests an evening of food, film and fermentation. The night will start with a reception featuring food from Barolo Grill, the Noshery, Panzano, Degree Metropolitan Food + Drink, S&G Charcuterie Project and Colorado ProStart, as well as wine pairings selected by Damon Ornowski, master sommelier with Southern Wine & Spirits. At 7:45 p.m., director Jason Wise’s 2013 film SOMM will roll you into the wonderful world of wine-making. (You can watch the trailer for the film here.) That will be be followed by a Q&A with local somms Ryan Fletter, CoMS Advanced Sommelier and owner of Barolo Grill, and Ornowski; the event will be moderated by food-and-beverage writer Ruth Tobias. Tickets are $50 and can be purchased here.
