While Chris Daniels has a 25-year history in these parts of horn-based, good-time blues rock/R&B, he gets over to Holland occasionally to team up with the like-minded Dutch R&B/soul act the BMaster. We'll Meet Again is a collaboration of the two playing live at the Q-Bus in Leiden, Holland. Early on the disc, they romp through funk, jump blues and zydeco before Daniels talks about some of the horn bands that inspired him early on, such as Blood, Sweat & Tears and Tower of Power. While about half the cuts on the album are high-energy funk, including TOP's "Don't Change Horses (in the Middle of a Stream)," the disc falls short in a few places, especially on less-inspired cuts like "American Tragedy" and "The Spark."
