With Glee and Lady Gaga all the rage, one can only hope that flamboyance and theatricality are a bit more acceptable across the board today. Regardless, Jeffree Star can and will push any envelope he can find; the genre-bending artist — who seemingly turned to music as a means to his multimedia ends — got his start as an outrageous, cross-dressing L.A. club kid who spun social networking, fashion design and a modeling-and-makeup career into a fame-building platform that could only happen in the 21st century. Musically, Star's 2009 debut full-length, Beauty Killer (which was produced in part by 3OH!3's Nathaniel Motte), is a sleaze-fueled electro-fest that falls somewhere between Peaches and Marilyn Manson — but once Star takes the stage of the Marquis, there won't be any mistaking him.
