La Loma has grown with Denver, going from a little bungalow in the early ’70s to its longstanding incarnation in northwest Denver, in a landmark spot overlooking the city. La Loma is known for good green chile (the recipe of the late Savina Mendoza, the matriarch of one of the founding families) and enormous margaritas. Although a few items -- shrimp fajitas, for example -- have been added to the board since La Loma was founded, most of the menu has been virtually unchanged since 1973, and so he restaurant serves up a real (and really delicious) culinary history. And in November 2016, La Loma began a new chapter downtown, with a move to 1801 Broadway, a location that maintains the charm of its predecessor, Trinity Grille, if not its ample parking.
