Summertime, and the living is breezy. Denver diners and drinkers are obsessed with patios -- and restaurateurs are obsessed with giving them what they want. Whether it's just a couple of chairs stuck out on the sidewalk or acres of elaborate decks, almost every joint in town has an outdoor option. So through the summer, we'll be sharing some of our favorites.

For four decades, La Fiesta has been serving Denver's best Colorado-style Mexican food from a converted Safeway in Curtis Park. The neighborhood has seen a lot of changes in that time -- but none were more welcome than a couple of developments last year, when La Fiesta decided to add Friday afternoon/evening hours to its normal 11 a.m.-2 p.m. weekday schedule (and how many restaurateurs would kill to be able to make a living off hours like that?), and then created a patio that's the perfect place to while away those extra Friday hours.

Grab a beer or margarita, order up a a pair of chiles relleno or a trio of soft tacos, and settle in for some very happy hours. 'Tis a privilege to live in Colorado -- especially when you're eating Colorado's greatest contribution to the culinary canon: green chile.
