Mimis Cafe is a national chain with a downhome, New Orleans accent — and today and tomorrow, local Mimis locations will be doing a downhome good deed for Work Options for Women, giving 15 percent of all sales of food and drink to the non-profit.There are a half-dozen locations in the metro area, all open from 7 a.m. until 10 p.m. — and today, as on every Wednesday, all bottles of wine are half-price at Mimis restaurants.
If you miss this deal on September 29 and 30, though, you can still eat out and support Work Options for Women.
The decade-old program, which trains impoverished women for careers in the food industry, runs its own restaurant: Cafe Options, at 1650 Curtis Street, where chef Craig Dixon and his crew cook up amazing things from scratch every weekday.
