Every Christmas, my brother buys me something, um, unusual. That’s why I have so many hand-carved Indian faces, hemp necklaces and — my favorite — a painting of a buffalo on the moon. It’s all made by artists local to the place where he’s residing at the time. If you’re anything like him — or you’re just looking for that perfect gift — check out Boulder’s Pearl Street Holiday Festival, which runs today through Christmas Eve. Located at 1147 Pearl Street (northwest corner of Pearl and Broadway), the free gift show features seventy local vendors selling handmade clothes, jewelry, wooden sculptures, paintings and photography. For information and hours, call 720-272-SHOP. Happy holidays.
Mondays-Fridays, 12-9 p.m.; Saturdays, 11 a.m.-10 p.m.; Sundays, 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Starts: Dec. 15. Continues through Dec. 24
