One thing’s for certain: You can pretty much count on the creative beehive that is Buntport Theater to turn everything you know and believe completely upside down on stage in the course of a single performance. This year’s season opener, Vote for Uncle Marty, does it again when the lead character, would-be city council candidate Uncle M., drops in on a family and never leaves their — yes — upside-down house. Seven years later, the troupe that collaboratively cooks up its unique plays from an improvisational soup drops in on Uncle Marty and friends for a wacky romp that’s equal parts sitcom, social satire and Theater of the Absurd.
Vote for Uncle Marty debuts tonight at 8 p.m.; shows continue at 8 on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays and 3 p.m. on selected Sundays through October 13. For tickets, $12 to $15 (the $20 opening-night admission includes a reception), call 720-946-1388 or go to www.buntport.com.
Thursdays-Saturdays, 8 p.m.; Sun., Sept. 23, 3 p.m.; Sun., Sept. 30, 3 p.m.; Sun., Oct. 7, 8 p.m. Starts: Sept. 7. Continues through Oct. 13, 2007
