Independent Journalism in Denver Needs You
We need to raise $25,000 by August 9 to support the reporting our community depends on. Reader support keeps us independent and is playing a larger role in funding local journalism and shaping what comes next. If you believe independent local journalism matters, make a contribution today.
Oh, yes, it’s that time of year, when girls have the freedom to sex up mundane costumes (slutty Spongebob, anyone?), goth kids stock up on summer wear, and chronic bingers are overstimulated by bashes, banquets and blowout affairs. Get on the party train tonight at The Ball, debuting at the Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art, 1750 13th Street in Boulder. The costume-required fundraiser is a revamp of BMoCA’s annual Exotica Erotica Ball, which has been retired after a fifteen-year run. The facelift comes courtesy of the Collection, a Boulder-based organization of progressive artists and individuals whose mission is to inspire new generations of art lovers to get down with their bad selves — to get funky and get cultured.
The Halloween circus features live music, local and national DJs, video and performance art, body painting and, of course, sweet alcoholic elixirs. The debauchery starts at 9 p.m.; tickets are $40 to $50. Sorry, munchkins, the party is exclusively 21-and-over. Get spooked at www.bmoca.org or call the museum at 303-443-2122.
Fri., Oct. 27, 9 a.m.-2 p.m.
