Memorial Day Weekend is when Front Rangers truly test the waters of summer. A lot of us take the first camping trip of the year or the first dive into the pool; still others haunt favorite watering holes of another kind or go out to dig in the garden. Whatever — our diversions usually involve al fresco options and a great deal of kicking back. It’s time to go outside and dig that Colorado sunshine!
One of the best places to do that — the Boulder Creek Festival — opens its gates this morning in Boulder Creek Park for three days of human hobnobbing on a grand scale, replete with all the things that street festivals are made of: craft vendors, turkey leg stands, Ferris wheels, music and more. The fest culminates on Monday with the time-honored Great Rubber Duck Race, which starts at 4 p.m.; the friendly competition’s $5 participation fee benefits Boulder Parks and Recreation-s EXPAND program.
Visit the Boulder Creek Festival today, tomorrow and Monday; for information, call 303-652-4942 or go to www.bouldercreekevents.com. Duck race registration is available at www.greatduckrace.org.
