Bet you can’t guess what happens at the third annual Blues, Brews & BBQ Festival. Here are a couple of hints to get you started: It doesn’t have anything to do with squirrel hunting or heavy metal, and the saying “Don’t judge a book by its cover” doesn’t stand a chance here.
As the name indicates, the event is a mouthwatering two-day party that blends microbrew and barbecue with live blues. Today from 1 to 5 p.m., stagger through 35 different brewers’ booths in the Village Hall of the Park Hyatt Resort and Spa, 50 West Thomas Place, for the largest exclusively Colorado microbrew tasting in the state. Admission is $30 in advance, $40 at the door.
And from noon to 6 p.m. both days, enjoy free live music — including a performance by blues legend Charlie Musselwhite — on the Beaver Creek Plaza while munching a variety of barbecue prepared by chefs of the Vail Valley, Austin and Kansas City. Don’t forget to cast your vote before 3 p.m. on Sunday for the People’s Choice barbecue award. To find out more, call 1-970-949-1234 or visit beavercreek.snow.com/info/summer/evt.bbb.asp.
May 27-28, 12-6 p.m.
