$20,000

Tifamade Cantine is the brainchild of sandwich maven Tiffany Iung, who at one time could be seen pedaling around town on her pink bike peddling sandwiches and other treats from a reclaimed suitcase strapped to the back. Her new digs are positively palatial in comparison: a lunch window in the 2800 block of Umatilla Street, right behind The Truffle Table (which which she shares a kitchen), from which she serves sandwiches, salads and snacks from a rotating menu. But last week, that window was closed up tight.

Not to worry, though. One of the big benefits to having a tiny place is that if you decide you need to close in order to concentrate on other projects, you don’t have any employees who’ll go hungry — although your customers might. Iung offered those fans an update on Tifamade’s Facebook page September 17:

Hello Sandwich Window pals. I’m up to my eyeballs in wedding catering this week, and I have to close the window for the rest of the week. I thought I could do both, but turns out I can’t. Come see me at the Denver Flea on Saturday if you get a chance? Normal hours resume next Tuesday. Thanks!!

And that means today. So hurry over to LoHi, where Tifamade’s window will open at 11 a.m. this morning.
