Reader support matters more than ever
We're in the final stretch of our summer campaign. Our goal is to raise $25,000 by August 9 to support the journalism our community relies on. Reader support is helping shape the future of local news.
Can Juicy Lucy’s overcome the curse of 250 Josephine Street? Despite the fact that the address comes with a parking lot — a rarity in Cherry Creek — restaurants that take on this spot never seem to last too long.
Papillon had a fairly long run here, but after that Radek Cerny restaurant closed abruptly six years ago, it was followed in short order by Indigo, Go Fish Grill and Tula, a great modern Mexican restaurant created by Chris Douglas (shown above) that just never quite caught on. Now Juicy Lucy’s, a steakhouse that’s an offshoot of a popular Glenwood Springs restaurant, is giving it a try. It opened on Thursday, and is offering breakfast and lunch seven days a week.
Good luck, Lucy. You’ll need it to survive this spot.
