Jen Korte bidding farewell to the Mile High City next Friday at the Larimer Lounge

"Denver is a city made of heart, and those who are in our artistic community work every day to keep that heart pumping and alive," she says. "I am proud to say when I move on that I am now from Denver and I will speak of it with nothing more than love and reverence."

We just received some rather deflating news: Jen Korte, one of Denver’s more compelling and expressive singer-songwriters, is leaving us soon for the city by the Bay. “I have always wanted to live by the ocean,” she explains, “and I think it’s time for a little change.”

In addition to continuing to pursue her own music, Korte plans to do some singing with former Denverite Jeremy D’Antonio’s Tiny Television, and she’ll be joining the Vinefield Agency as an agent and setting up a San Francisco outpost of sorts.

“Denver is a city made of heart, and those who are in our artistic community work every day to keep that heart pumping and alive,” she says. “I am proud to say when I move on that I am now from Denver, and I will speak of it with nothing more than love and reverence.”

Korte’s farewell show is slated for Friday, April 29, at the Larimer Lounge, with Science Partner, Achille Lauro and the Raven and the Writing Desk.
