Colorado is a state that loves outdoor activities — which makes the poster show debuting this Friday, June 13 at Gallerie Rouge a natural. Owner Lisa Taylor will feature the largest collection of vintage European posters celebrating the great outdoors ever shown in the Rocky Mountains. The timing is no coincidence. Many of the world’s biggest outdoor events, such as the Tour de France, take place during the summer…and some of them even happen right in our back yard.

Tyler was a nurse when she decided to change careers almost twenty years ago and open Gallerie Rouge. She and her husband had often collected posters while traveling, a hobby that is now their business. Keep reading for a look at a few of the posters that will be on display.

To augment the show’s outdoor theme, two local companies will be sharing their expertise with pop-up stores: Bike shop and community non-profit Bike Depot is supplying the gallery with a collection of unusual bikes (some for sale), and Grasshaven Outdoors, a camping supply store with a focus on environmentalism, will be setting up “vignettes of outdoor and family camping,” Tyler says.

Friday night’s reception runs from 5 to 10 p.m. and is open to the public. Find more information on the Gallerie Rouge website.
