Here’s what’s good in the Mile High City this week: In October, St. Vincent is due at the Boulder Theater, followed by DeVotchKa who also appear there later in the month, as well as the Ogden, and Why? at the Gothic Theater. On local radio, Bop Skizzum, Big Gigantic and Planes Mistaken for Stars got some spins. Meanwhile, at our local record stores, Rose Hill Drive topped the charts at Twist & Shout and Albums on the Hill, while Incubus knocked Tech N9NE out of the top spot at Independent and the Dwarves was the top seller at Wax Trax. This Just In: New Concerts and On-sale Dates


Touring in support of her new album, Strange Mercy, which comes out September 13 on 4AD, St. Vincent (above) visits the Boulder Theater on Saturday, October 8. General admission tickets ($18 in advance and $20 day of show) go on sale on Friday July 22 at 10 a.m.

What has become a Halloween tradition of sorts, DeVotchka will play shows on Friday, October 28 at the Ogden Theatre (tickets are $34.75 and go on sale Saturday, July 23 at 10 a.m.) and on Saturday, October 29 at the Boulder Theater (tickets are $42 and go on sale Friday, July 22 at 10 a.m.).

Why? will debut new material the Gothic Theatre on Wednesday, October 12 as part of its new tour, which kicks off next month, where crowds will be seated. Tickets ($15) are on sale now.

Boulder’s Rose Hill Drive took the top spots at both Albums on the Hill and Twist & Shout with its new record, Americana, released last week on the band’s own Slow and Shirley Records imprint. At Independent Records, Incubus knocked Tech N9NE out of the top spot with its new album, If Not Now When?,, released on Epic last week. Dwarves, meanwhile, who will be at the Bluebird on September 23 with Nashville Pussy, came in first at Wax Trax with their latest effort, Born Again.
