Brandi Carlile clearly has a thing for Colorado singer-songwriters. That’s what we gather anyhow from her choice of tour companions. Former Boulderite, Katie Herzig, who’s hanging her hat in Nashville these days, has been tapped to open nine dates for Carlile starting with a gig at the Knitting Factory in Spokane this Tuesday.
Gregory Alan Isakov, meanwhile, on whose record Carlile cameos, joins the tour just as Herzig drops off on Monday, January 25 in Pittsburgh and plays a total of ten dates culminating with a show in Montclair, New Jersey on February 6.
And in a it’s-a-small-world-after-all moment, the trio’s paths will all cross again at the end of February on the Cayamayo Cruise, a five-day excursion through the Caribbean that also features a slew of renown singer-songwriters including Steve Earle, Lyle Lovett, Edwin McCain and Shawn Mullins, among others. Wonder what sort of future collaborations that trip will inspire.
