The above photo was obviously taken long before the members of the Swayback found out they’d be working with Andy Johns. Wherever they are right now, though, you’ve got to assume they’re experiencing a similar sense of jubilation knowing that in a week and a half they’ll be heading to Los Angeles to spend ten days recording with the guy who manned the boards for classic albums by Led Zeppelin and the Rolling Stones and produced Television’s Marquee Moon. The band will reportedly re-record tracks from Long Gone Lads, as well as at least six new songs, which are slated to be released later this year under the same title by an LA-based imprint with major distribution (they’re still hashing out the details of the deal). A brand new full-length will follow early next year. Congrats, fellas! — Dave Herrera
