Although it might seem like an exaggeration, photographer Jim Narcy changes lives on a daily basis: He takes pin-up photographs of women wanting to express themselves in a different, beautiful way. “It’s really empowering,” Narcy says. “It’s a delight for them to see themselves as beautiful, and that’s a really big deal. It’s a boost for their self-confidence. They say they’re doing it for their husbands or their boyfriends, but really they’re doing it for them. I still am blown away by it.”
Today, Narcy’s pin-up company, Paper Dolls, is hosting its second annual Back to School Pin-Up Shoot at Bad Kittie Salon, 2909 East Colfax Avenue. The “tuition fees” for photo shoots range from $75 (for costuming only) to $625, which includes a one-hour private planning session, professional hair and makeup styling, two different looks, three sessions and a print package.
Although the party is being held in a public venue, some of the “students” prefer a more private shoot setting, which Narcy provides. Ladies interested in learning more about Paper Dolls can contact him to watch a portion of a photo shoot and meet the creative team on a tour; call 303-204-1666 or visit www.letbeautyloose.com.
