The Boulder-based online publication Elephant Journal typically takes a holistic, humane approach to everything from yoga to popular culture, and its journalists’ quiet passion extends to a series of soirées it hosts called the Salon Party.

The latest edition takes place in conjunction with the Boulder Museum of Contemporary Arts’ Open Wall event; for it, the Elephant crew will curate a room of locally made artwork and provide local music and a cash bar, as well as give tips on how artists can make their studios and work eco-friendly.

“It’s our hope that artists, whatever their medium, will learn how to green their craft,” says journal founder Waylon Lewis. “Art is essential to a healthy society, of course, and it’s time we learn how to make our art more healthy.”

The Elephant Journal Salon Party goes from 7 to 10 p.m. at BmoCA, 1750 13th Street; a $5 donation is suggested. For info, call 303-443-2122 or visit www.bmoca.org. To check out the publication, visit www.elephantjournal.com.
