At Denver International Airport yesterday, Southwest went the extra mile of flair by festively decorating concourse C with Halloween-themed stuff — stuff like the three gravestones above, which sported humorous epitaphs. Most of them were pretty goofy, but a closer inspection revealed that at least one was a clever dig on competitor United Airlines that, if it didn’t cross the line into weirdly inappropriate considering the context, it certainly toed it. The good: In your face, United! The not-so-good: “Flew” is spelled wrong.
Will you step up to support Westword this year?
At Westword, we’re small and scrappy — and we make the most of every dollar from our supporters. Right now, we’re $20,000 away from reaching our December 31 goal of $50,000. If you’ve ever learned something new, stayed informed, or felt more connected because of Westword, now’s the time to give back.
