Tyler Snow is deservedly best known for his various DJ gigs over the years, most easily witnessed every second Friday at the Meadowlark, during the Disco Nouveau event. But on rare occasions, he’ll perform as Ate Bitten and display his facility with putting together rich layers of sound using bent-circuit devices and chip-tune manipulation. Whether that’s using/misusing old video game devices, analog synths, looping pedals or whatever Snow has with him at a show, he manages to take bits of technology that are normally used in the creation of the sound art in a noise project and makes unique electro-pop songs. Each of the darkly soothing tunes of Ate Bitten (due at Glob on Friday, May 7) might be heard in a secret part of some long-lost NES game or an as-yet-undiscovered Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark demo.
