Project Angel Heart, the Denver nonprofit that prepares and delivers more than 400,000 nutritious meals each year to people coping with life-threatening illnesses, is joining forces with several local restaurants, catering companies, dessert dens and cafes for A Taste for Life, a gustatory graze-athon that raises funds to support the programs of Project Angel Heart. Tonight’s culinary powwow, which takes place at the Exdo Event Center, 1399 35th Street, will peddle appetizers, entrees and sugar finales from Avenue Grill, Beatrice & Woodsley, Il Mondo Vecchio, Root Down, Second Home Kitchen & Bar, Snooze, the Corner Office, Occasions by Sandy, the Lobby and more. “We have a lot of great events throughout the year for Project Angel Heart, but this event is my ― and the kitchen crew’s ― favorite,” says PAH executive chef Jon Emanuel. “Not only can we show off a little, but we can meet and chat with our supporters, volunteers and fellow culinarians in a great setting with a fun vibe, all in the name of good food and generosity.” The event, which gets under way at 6 p.m., also includes a reverse auction, where prices start high and are lowered every ten minutes at the sound of a bell. “It’s a unique kind of auction that sparks some great bidding competition,” notes Emanuel. Tickets are $95 each, include valet parking and two drink tickets, and can be purchased at www.projectangelheart.org/events/taste-for-life.html.
