Artists will paint on almost anything for charity: skateboards, vinyl toys, cat statues, guitars — you name it. Now an ever-growing slice of locals are contributing hand-painted bowling pins for the Wish for Wheels Bowling Pin Art Charity Show, a one-night affair on Saturday, January 14, from 8 to 11:30 p.m. at Marion Street Tattoo/Gallery. A full 100 percent of the proceeds — each pin sells for $100 — will benefit WFW, a nonprofit organization that provides bikes and helmets to kindergartners.
To add to the fun, Chad Price of Drag the River will provide live music, and bowling-alley snacks and PBR will be served. Gallery manager Emily Francis says the pins are still rolling in, so there’ll be plenty to choose from (if you can’t attend, you can still make a donation via PayPal online.
