Although it hasn’t been said as much outright, it sounds like Spools of Dark Thread‘s days may be numbered. Chris Thomas, Spools’ furiously talented frontman (far right), revealed this afternoon that he and his mates are discussing whether or not the band will continue. Let’s hope so. Spools has produced some of the most tuneful hard rock in recent memory. In the meantime, Thomas has embarked on a new project with bassman Rich Ross (Samples, Matthew Moon) and guitarist Pat Searcy (Sick, Drug Under) called Random Friend Generator that’s set to launch on Saturday, January 31 at Herman’s Hideaway. — Dave Herrera
