Instead of staying at home and cooking for hours and then facing hours more of cleanup, why not head to the mountains, get some skiing in, and let the resorts do it all for you? As an added bonus, getting some runs in will help you burn off the calorie fest.
While most of the resorts aren’t doing anything until Friday, two are determined to offer skiers and boarders a traditional Thanksgiving dinner in a great setting.
Winter Park, which just opened the expert run Norwegian, will be offering three different locations for a Thanksgiving meal, including at the base at Doc’s Roadhouse and the Five Mountain Tavern, and a mountaintop buffet Thanksgiving dinner at the top of the Zephyr lift at the The Lodge at Sunspot. Prices start at $24.95 for adults at the base and $49.95 for adults at The Lodge.
Skiers at Keystone can enjoy a traditional Thanksgiving dinner for $39.95 at the Keystone Lodge and Spa from 4-8 p.m., then, if not in a turkey coma, pop on the skis or snowboard and go night skiing, which starts today. There is also a non-traditional Thanksgiving buffet at the Summit Seafood at the Inn at Keystone for $34.95 for adults. Kids under five eat free at both, while children have a reduced rate.
