The Fourmile Canyon fire inspired Boulder’s restaurant community to rally in support of those affected by the blaze, feeding firefighters and evacuated homeowners for free and throwing impromptu benefits to support organizations like the Red Cross.

The inferno has been reduced to ashes, but fire departments are still dealing with the cost of replacing lost equipment. Now they’ll get some help from Denver-based Noodles & Company: The restaurant chain raised a chunk of change for the departments that helped fight the fire.

“We managed to raise about $10,000,” says Lindsey Mandel, who does public relations for Noodles & Company. “We’re happy with the community turnout.”

That money comes from the North Boulder, South Boulder, 29th Street Mall and Longmont locations, which donated a dollar from each entree sold between October 4 and October 10.
