$20,000

Aroma Cafe lasted less than a year at 2017 South University Boulevard — but the brothers who’ve taken over the space have a restaurant record that stretches back more than twenty years.

Kevin and Craig Caldwell, the partners behind Brooklyn’s (both the original and the one by the Pepsi Center), have taken over the space, where they plan to open Crimson and Gold, a campus-oriented restaurant (those are the University of Denver’s colors).

And that means they’ll need a liquor license, so they’ll be at the Wellington Webb building tomorrow for a 1:30 p.m. hearing on their liquor-license application.
