Announcement: We have a winner of our free Guinness for a year from Fado Irish Pub contest. The actual number of Guinness pints served during the month of March, 2012, was 13,854. Ericwrites came the closest without going over with his guess of 12,656. Congrats!
On Friday, Fado Irish Pub is hosting its annual Great Guinness Toast — a gathering of Guinness beer geeks who attempt to break the record for the largest simultaneous toast. (Trivia note: The record has been broken every year since its inception in 1993.)
And each year, including this one, Fado hosts a big bash to celebrate (there’s no cover charge) with shot specials, giveaways and live music from Irish rock band The Indulgers — and the opportunity for revelers to open their wallets for a good cause; Fadó Irish Pub is partnering with Denver Fire and The Burn Foundation, and local firefighters will guest bartend and fill the boot with donations for the nonprofit foundation.
But there’s a second part to this equation, as well, and that’s where you all come in. Thanks to Fado, one lucky Cafe Society commenter is going to win free Guinness for an entire year, which translates to one free pint of Guinness a day for 365 days. Burp.
