Keep Westword Free
We’re $1,500 away from our spring campaign goal!
We’re aiming to raise $20,000. Your support ensures Westword can continue watching out for you and our community. No paywall. Always accessible. Daily online and weekly in print.
Set your pin curls, grease up your pompadour and get ready for the Rock Steady Fundraiser and Fashion Show, a rockabilly-themed charity event that promises a swinging good time while raising money for the Action Center, a nonprofit that helps homeless individuals in Jefferson County. Taking place within the multi-million-dollar inventory of classy cars at Club Auto Colorado, the evening centers on a runway show of looks from the Funky Finds boutique and the Local Love apparel company.
“Teaching people how to become self-sufficient — it’s a cause that’s close to home for the founders of our groups,” says Shelby Robinette of Arvada’s Mile High Heels, one of the organizers.
The 21-and-up party will feature a raffle, photo booth, live music, a cash bar and barbecue eats from the Smokin Food Truck. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., and the fashion show begins at 8 p.m. at Club Auto Colorado, 11100 West Eighth Avenue in Lakewood. Tickets are $20; for more information, go to www.rocksteadyfundraiser.eventbrite.com.
