The ink! Coffee location at 1590 Little Raven Street will be giving away one scoop of free ice cream per person on Sunday to celebrate the expansion of its business, which will soon sell Sweet Action and Little Man ice cream.
Why both?
To ink! CEO Keith Herbert it all comes back to supporting small, Colorado-grown companies and when it comes to ice cream, two scoops is always better than one.
“It’s fun in a competitive way, but I really just wanted to support small entrepreneurial businesses,” Herbert says. “We were running out of space and we needed more seating, so when the business next door opened up we saw it as an opportunity to solve our problem.”
Will you step up to support Westword this year?
At Westword, we’re small and scrappy — and we make the most of every dollar from our supporters. Right now, we’re $20,500 away from reaching our December 31 goal of $50,000. If you’ve ever learned something new, stayed informed, or felt more connected because of Westword, now’s the time to give back.
In terms of further ink!-Sweet Action-Little Man collaborations, Herbert remains modest saying, “We’d like to expand but we really want to see how this one goes first.”
On Labor Day, ink! will open the ice cream side of its shop from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Its new regular hours will be from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. on weekdays and 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. on weekends. Though the ice cream section’s seating will be available for all customers, ink! won’t actually start scooping until 11 a.m.
