A relative newcomer to the club scene, Zana Mills made her debut behind the decks at Fevah in London just three years ago. Since that time, she has made strides in her career — such as garnering residencies at Toxik UK and Fevah USA — that would have taken most other DJs a decade or so to achieve. In addition to spinning at those clubs, Mills has toured her native New Zealand as well as Sweden and America, and she’s performed at London’s famed Ministry of Sound and the requisite Ibiza nightspots. So how did she get so far so fast? It’s Mills’s seductive sound that sets her apart: She has a knack for bringing out the sexier, groove-laden aspects of techno that are often overlooked by other DJs looking to pummel crowds with mean bass lines and hard beats. Fevah USA, now spinning monthly at the Church, hosts Zana Mills this Friday, March 11.
