The female-scream decibel level is sure to reach epic proportions tonight at the Colorado Firefighter Calendar Tryouts. “It is a night that’s on fire,” says CFC boardmember Crystal Mackey. “It’s literally a runway show of shirtless firefighters, with tons of crazy, screaming women.” Those women will watch as men in uniform answer questions and then remove said uniforms to get greased up and dance down the runway, all for a chance at being featured in the 2015 firefighter calendar.
But the event isn’t all about the bodies of chiseled males (okay, and a couple of females) who seem to be ripped from the pages of romance novels; it’s also for a good cause. Proceeds from the event (and resulting calendar) benefit the Children’s Hospital Burn Center and Burn Camp programs. Audience members will also have a chance to bid for a judge’s seat and the experience of greasing up the calendar hopefuls.
The heat turns up tonight at the Exdo Event Center, 1399 35th Street; a VIP pre-party runs from 6 to 7:30 p.m., and the show starts at 8. VIP tickets ($75) include admission to the pre-party and meet-and-greet, as well as drinks and appetizers, a swag bag and the 2014 calendar. General-admission tickets to the 21-and-over event are $35 in advance and $40 at the door; for tickets and more information, visit cfcjudging.ezregister.com.
