Highland Mountain Boys Johnny Crow needs to keep his good gal separate from his side gal. See, Sassy is the sort of jealous six-string who gets uppity and slips out of tune any time Johnny’s eye starts a-rovin’, especially in the direction of Classy, that twelve-string, home-wreckin’ hound bitch. But sometimes the only good way for things to end is badly. Crow oughtta know: He sings all about it in a little duo with punk drummer Bretton (“the Denver Dutchman”) — along with such honky-tonk weepers as “Hole in the Timecard,” “Hail to the President” and the all too timely “Hurricanes.” It’s enough to lead a fella to drink. A few snorts of that liquid fire and you’ll be plumb numb — seein’ double and feelin’ single. Or, better yet, unconscious. It’s a wonder the Boys can keep a bottle corked at all. Leave it to a female.
