Parking got John Hickenlooper a lot of play when he was first running for mayor of Denver, and it’s doing the job again.
NPR and MSNBC have both reported on Hizzoner’s promise to pay for any parking tickets acquired when voters got stuck in endless lines at Denver’s election centers on November 7. And early Sunday morning, Hick got a shout-out from a much more unlikely crew: the hosts of the national Fox & friends.
After noting that Denver’s mayor had vowed to cover any tickets collected during the delay — a delay Fox attributed entirely to a new electronic voting system, with no mention of incompetent old employees — Foxy anchors Alisyn Camerota and Kiran Chetry heaped praises on Hickenlooper. “He’s my kind of mayor,” sighed Camerota.
