Ron D. Core
— who’s slated to appear at the Aztlan Theatre this Saturday, May 13 — has been pushing hardcore and gabber sounds out of his home base in Los Angeles for fifteen years now, and is one of the defining names not only in hardcore, but in the larger rave scene in general. Core’s record shop, Dr. Freecloud’s Mixing Lab, has become ground zero for much of the hardcore scene, and his label, Atomic Hardcore Records, has issued many of its pivotal releases. Core’s live sets are an absolutely pummeling aural assault and serve as key examples of the aggression that electronic music is capable of producing. An appearance by Ron D. Core is extremely rare in Denver, so check him out while you can.
