It takes balls! There’s a new testicle-related world record, and it was set right here in Colorado.

This weekend, the Lady Luck Casino in Black Hawk hosted a Major League Eating-sanctioned competitive eating contest, charging competitors with the task of downing as many Rocky Mountain Oysters as they could in ten minutes.

Pat “Deep Dish” Bertoletti, the number three-ranked eater in Major League Eating, put down three pounds, 11.75 ounces of the sliced and deep-fried, um, delicacy to clinch the win — and the record. Second place was taken by Tim “Eater X” Janus, who’s ranked number five in the league; he ate just a half an ounce less than Bertoletti.

For Bertoletti’s determined ability to consume almost four pounds of bulls’ balls, he won $1,500 (and bragging rights). Janus took home $1,250, and third place plus $1,000 went to Bob “Notorious BOB” Shoudt, the number two-ranked competitor.
